U.S. stocks surged on Friday, with the benchmark S&P 500 scaling a fresh record,
as investors cheered robust quarterly reports from Meta Platforms and
Amazon.com, while a strong jobs report kept the upbeat sentiment in check.  .N 
    
    At 13:31 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was up 0.20% at
38,597.82. The S&P 500  .SPX  was up 0.94% at 4,952.22 and the Nasdaq Composite
 .IXIC  was up 1.52% at 15,595.63.
