July 28 (Reuters) - The benchmark S&P 500 edged higher in a choppy session on Tuesday, as gains in other sectors offset a decline in chip stocks ahead of key earnings reports from some of Wall Street's "Magnificent Seven" companies. .N
     
At  13:30 EDT, the Dow Jones Industrial Average .DJI was up 1.20% at 52,837.65. The S&P 500 .SPX was up 0.32% at 7,436.86, and the Nasdaq Composite .IXIC was down 0.02% at 24,927.89.
