** Citi expects no material effect on Australian supermarket giants Woolworths WOW.AX and Coles COL.AX as Amazon partners with a local business to enter the fresh food market

** Amazon has partnered with Harris Farm to deliver fresh produce to 80 suburbs in Sydney

** Citi says, as Harris Farm has sales of around A$1 billion and predominantly caters to the Sydney market, the partnership has potential to create about A$50 million-A$100 million of sales over time

** Brokerage, however, flags that should the joint venture expand to other states, the impact on the supermarket chains could be more meaningful

** Woolies fell 3.6% while Coles rose 13.5% in 2025
