Corrects quarter-end date to March 29 from March 31 in second paragraph
May 1 (Reuters) - Australia's Coles COL.AX posted a 3.1% rise in its third-quarter revenue on Friday, as loyalty programs and discounts drove a modest sales growth at its supermarkets.
The country's second-largest grocer posted total group sales revenue of A$10.70 billion ($7.70 billion) for the three months ended March 29, compared with A$10.38 billion a year ago. That was broadly in-line with the Visible Alpha consensus estimate of A$10.68 billion.
