Saint-Gobain invests in modular TIMBER construction
in germany
Saint-Gobain announces the acquisition of a majority stake in Brüggemann, one of German's leading companies in the manufacture and installation of turnkey modular timber construction solutions for new construction and renovation. Modular offsite production, empowered by digital processes, offers the opportunity to build faster and to meet the strictest requirements of performance, sustainability and building efficiency.
Founded in 1957 and significantly developed over the past few years, Brüggemann employs about 150 people and achieved sales of close to €40 million in 2020, with one production site in Neuenkirchen in North Rhine-Westphalia. Tobias Brüggemann, son of the founder and current manager, retains an equity interest in the company and will continue to shape further growth.
This investment complements Saint-Gobain's range of light construction solutions and systems in Germany, and enables it to further strengthen its role as an innovation leader in the sustainable construction industry.
