SAINT-GOBAIN has INAUGURATEd THE FIRST 100% RENEWABLE
ELECTRICITY PLASTERBOARD PLANT IN NORTH AMERICA

Saint-Gobain has today inaugurated its CertainTeed plasterboard plant in
Sainte-Catherine, near Montreal, Canada, which is now fully electrified and
powered by hydroelectricity. This site becomes the first zero-carbon (scope 1
and 2) plasterboard plant in North America and the largest in the world to be
fully powered by electricity.

The launch of a new production line at the existing plant, along with
equipment modernization, has enabled a 40% increase in production capacity
while reducing energy consumption by 30% and CO₂ emissions by approximately
44,000 tons per year.

"This ambitious project strengthens our leadership position in light
construction in Canada and meets the strong local demand for sustainable
solutions. It accelerates our growth in the country, where we have tripled in
size in 3 years", explains Mark Rayfield, CEO Saint-Gobain North America.

This 100% renewable electricity plasterboard plant is the Group's second after
the one in Fredrikstad, Norway, inaugurated in 2023
(https://www.saint-gobain.com/sites/saint-gobain.com/files/media/document/20230406_NZC%20plasterboard_VA.pdf)

achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
