** Shares of biotech firm Compass Pathways CMPS.O up about
2% at $8.71 premarket
** Company says its experimental psilocybin treatment,
COMP360, helped improve symptoms of post traumatic stress
disorder (PTSD) in patients
** COMP360 is a synthetic form of psilocybin, a naturally
occurring psychedelic compound that is found in certain mushroom
varieties
** The drug helped improve functional impairments, or
limitations in social, family or work life caused by the
disease, over 12 weeks - CMPS
** CMPS says the drug was well tolerated, but flags two
suicidal ideation adverse events that took place during the
study and were resolved
** One of the events was related to the drug and the second
event could also "possibly" be related to it, company says
** Data is from an open label mid-stage study testing the
safety and tolerability of the drug in 22 patients with PTSD
** As of last close, CMPS down 2.4% YTD
