** Shares of Contact Energy CEN.NZ fall as much as 5.3% to NZ$9.08, their lowest level since October 20, 2025

** Marks steepest intraday loss since mid-June, 2022

** Energy generator-retailer completes NZ$450 million ($271.39 million) placement as part of its NZ$525 million equity raise

** Issue price of NZ$8.75 per share represents an 8.8% discount to stock's last close

** Proceeds to be used for funding a slate of renewable energy projects

** Stock is down 1.3% YTD, including the session's moves
