** Contact Energy  CEN.NZ  rises 1.1% to A$8.390
    ** Stock rose as much as 5.7% to A$8.791 earlier in the
session, highest since Jan. 20
    ** Energy retailer says it acknowledges Statement of Issues
released by the New Zealand Commerce Commission, assessing the
competitive effects of co buying Manawa Energy  MNW.NZ 
    ** Adds both firms provided substantive evidence and will
continue to assist the Commission in matters noted in the
statement
    ** Statement says merger will raise potential competition
issues
    ** YTD, CEN down 2.1%
