NZ's Contact Energy falls on higher unit generation cost for wholesale business

** Shares of New Zealand's Contact Energy CEN.NZ down 2.3%
at NZ$9.22, on track for their worst day since May 30, if losses
hold
** The electricity generation co posts May 2024 wholesale
business unit generation cost, which includes acquired
generation of NZ$56.78/MWh versus NZ$29.34/MWh in May 2023
** Co also posted May 2024 wholesale business contracted
wholesale electricity sales, including that sold to customer
business of 776gwh versus 741GWh in May 2023
** Stock has risen 17.7% this year, as of last close
