Cordel Group PLC
("Cordel" or the "Company" or the "Group")
New UK customer contract
Cordel Group PLC (AIM: CRDL), the Artificial Intelligence platform for
transport corridor analytics, is pleased to announce a new contract with DG8
Design and Engineering Ltd ("DG8").
DG8, a part of Equans, is an established design and engineering group focused
on clients within the rail transport sector, working at all tiers of the
supply chain. DG8's creative and versatile group of designers and engineers is
experienced in delivering rail vehicle projects.
DG8 is procuring two sets of Cordel Wave 32 Rugged LiDAR and AI technology to
deploy onto two new Class 153 visual inspection units in a new integration
being created for Network Rail.
Cordel will provide autonomous data capture and upload, focusing on
hard-to-reach and higher risk locations around the network. Infrastructure
engineers will be able to access LiDAR and video via the Cordel Connect data
management platform, offline in an office environment, reducing the need for
boots-on-ballast.
Cordel will also make further automated, AI-enhanced outputs available for
Network Rail routes and regions to purchase, delivering these additional,
co-located insights through Cordel Connect. Users will be able to select from
the Cordel Data-as-a-Service product catalogue, including NR-approved
measurements for structure gauging, electrified lines height and stagger,
asset register compliances updates, cross-sectional and volumetric vegetation
encroachment and ballast profiling.
DG8 Director Mark Hoptroff said, "DG8 is partnering with Cordel to enhance the
suite of infrastructure monitoring services we provide, by integrating
Cordel's LiDAR and AI capabilities onto the Class 153s. Working
collaboratively, we will deliver transformative solutions that enhance
maintenance efficiency and create significant value for our end customer
Network Rail."
Cordel CEO John Davis said, "We are delighted to engage with DG8 in the
provision of railway infrastructure monitoring services. Cordel will build on
the Class 153 data captures to deliver AI-enriched insights for Network Rail.
The DG8 contract enables us to show the value of integrating Cordel technology
onto the Class 153s, so we can deliver joined-up datasets via the Cordel
Connect platform."
