SAO PAULO, Oct 22 (Reuters) - Brazilian sugar and ethanol producer Raizen RAIZ4.SA reported 35.1 million metric tons of crushing sugarcane in the second quarter of the 2025/2026 crop, up 6.7% from the same period a year earlier, according to a securities filing on Wednesday.
Raizen's production of sugar equivalent reached 4.8 million tons, some 30% jump year-over-year, while total recoverable sugar fell to 142 kg per ton from 147 kg per ton.
The share of sugar in the production mix — with cane also used for ethanol output — rose to 56% in the quarter from 52% a year earlier.
