SAO PAULO, Nov 14 (Reuters) - Brazilian sugar processor Raizen RAIZ4.SA reported on Friday a net loss of 2.3 billion reais ($425.6 million) in the second quarter of the 2025/26 crop, compared to a 158 million-real loss in the same period a year earlier.
Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) fell 12.8% to 3.3 billion reais, missing analysts' estimates of 3.6 billion reais.
Net revenue came in at 59.9 billion reais, down 17.8% but above analysts' forecast of 57.4 billion reais.
Raizen said the loss reflects weaker operational results and higher financial expenses.
It also cited a change in the value of non-biological asset and a 1 billion real effect from asset sales and hibernation.
Raizen is a joint venture of Brazilian conglomerate Cosan CSAN3.SA and Shell SHEL.L.
