Brazil's SLC, Bom Futuro exercise rights for same properties in Mato Grosso state (updated)
UPDATE 2-Brazil's SLC, Bom Futuro exercise rights for same properties in Mato Grosso state Updates with Cosan's response
SAO PAULO, June 26 - Brazilian agricultural firms SLC Agricola SLCE3.SA and Bom Futuro Agricola separately said on Friday that they approved exercising rights to acquire all rural properties in the portfolio known as "Bloco Mato Grosso" that currently belongs to conglomerate Cosan's CSAN3.SA Radar unit.
SLC and Bom Futuro are two of Brazil's largest grain and oilseed producers.
It was not clear how each move would affect the other or which company held leverage over exercising rights.
Cosan said last week that it agreed to sell the portfolio in Brazil's Mato Grosso state for 1.85 billion reais ($356.89 million), without naming the buyer.
Cosan declined to comment.
The block is a set of properties with approximately 41,214 hectares of titled land area, corresponding to about 28,800 arable hectares.
Of the arable hectares, SLC said in a securities filing, it already operates 17,600 hectares.
Bom Futuro did not detail in a statement its interest in the properties but said it also leases them.
