Walmart set to join Nasdaq 100, shares climb

** Retail giant Walmart's WMT.O shares rise 2.7% to $117.64 premarket; co to join the Nasdaq-100 index .NDX on January 20

** Exchange operator Nasdaq said on Friday the co will replace British drugmaker AstraZeneca AZN.O in the index

** WMT will also be part of the Nasdaq-100 Equal-Weighted Index, and Nasdaq-100 Ex-Tech Sector Index

     ** Co raised its annual net sales and earnings forecast in November

** WMT shares have risen about 25% in the past one year
