BUZZ-India's Cyient rises as U.S. exemption eases $76 million buyback path ** Technology, engineering and digital solutions company Cyient's shares CYIE.NS rise as much as 3% to 884.9 rupees apiece; stock last up 2.2%
** CYIE says its 7.20 billion rupees ($76.2 million) buyback qualifies for Tier I exemption under the U.S. Securities Exchange Act, as U.S. shareholders hold less than 10% of its shares
** With this exemption, CYIE is not required to get any exemptive or no-action relief from the SEC in connection with the buyback
** This can make the buyback smoother to execute, as it reduces regulatory requirements for U.S. shareholders to participate in the buyback
** The average rating of 17 analysts tracking CYIE is "hold"; median price target is 1027.5 rupees, data compiled by LSEG shows
** CYIE shares are down 21.4% in 2026 so far, underperforming the 6.6% rise in the Nifty small-cap 100 index .NIFSMCP100, according to exchange data
