    POLITICS
    The European Union should form its own combined army that
could play a role in peacekeeping and preventing conflict,
Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said. In an interview
with newspaper La Stampa, Tajani said that closer European
cooperation on defence was a priority for the Forza Italia party
that he leads.

    Bank of Italy releases December data on Target 2 liabilities
and European Central Bank funding to Italian banks.
    
    DEBT
    Italy will offer 8 billion euros in BOT bills at a Jan. 10
auction, the Treasury said on Friday.
    The Treasury is due to announce the sale of BTP bonds, with
relative amounts to be auctioned on Jan. 11.
    
    COMPANIES    
    STELLANTIS  STLAM.MI  
    The automaker produced fewer fully-electric 500e cars in
Italy than planned last year as buyers are waiting for
government incentives, the FIM CISL union said on Friday.

    Board meeting on preliminary FY results (revenues).

    D'AMICO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING  B7C.MI 
    The group performed well in the last quarter of 2023 and
expects to record strong liquidity which will be used to reduce
debt, chairman and CEO Paolo d'Amico told Milano Finanza on
Saturday. An interim dividend is likely in 2024, the chairman
said, adding that the company is looking at the possibility of
transporting ammonia and CO2 in the medium term.

is in pole position to succeed Gian Maria Gros-Pietro as
