Sphere 3D Corp rises after buying bitcoin mining machines for $1.7 bln

** Bitcoin mining company's shares  ANY.O  rise 11.2% to
$2.57 in premarket trade 
    ** Sphere 3D to acquire 60,000 NuMiner bitcoin miners for
$1.7 bln
    ** Purchase price to be paid in a combination of cash,
vendor financing, equity and a milestone contingent payment 
    ** As part of the deal, Anthony Melman, chair of the NuMiner
Global Board, will be appointed to the Sphere 3D board
