    August 6 (Reuters) - Wall Street's benchmark S&P 500 struggled for direction in choppy trading on Thursday as investors took a breather from a record-breaking rally earlier this week and awaited any signs of a peace deal in the Middle East.  .N 
    At 11:30 EDT, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was down 0.56% at 54,042.22. The S&P 500  .SPX  was down 0.10% at 7,716.10, and the Nasdaq Composite  .IXIC  was up 0.17% at 26,409.19.
