UK's De La Rue gets takeover offer from Edi Truell's consortium, Sky News reports (updated)

(Adds details and background from previous story in paragraph 2
and 4, Sky News report in paragraph 3)
Jan 9 (Reuters) - UK banknote printer De La Rue DLAR.L
received a takeover offer from prominent British financier Edi
Truell, Sky News reported on Thursday.
The company was eyeing a 40% stake sale last month, after it
had received a 125 pence per share offer from a consortium of
two of Truell's companies, Disruptive Capital GP and Pension
SuperFund Capital.
Truell has now tabled a takeover offer at the same 125 pence
per share conditional cash offer, the report added.
De La Rue and the consortium did not immediately respond to
a request for comment.
The London-listed company has been trying to bolster its
finances since the COVID-19 pandemic, also selling its
authentication arm last year to cut its debt.
