FRANKFURT, Aug 11 (Reuters) - Thyssenkrupp TKAG.DE is
considering selling a stake or bringing a strategic partner on
board as options to develop its hydrogen business, the group's
finance chief said on Wednesday, stopping short of expressing a
clear preference.
Companies are making partnership proposals regarding
Thyssenkrupp Uhde Chlorine Engineers (TKUCE), a 66-34 joint
venture of Thyssenkrupp and Italy's De Nora IPO-DENR.MI , Klaus
Keysberg told analysts after presenting third-quarter results.
"In some cases there are really good strategic stories
behind this," Keysberg said, without identifying any potential
partners.
When asked whether he would prefer a strategic partner or a
partial value crystallisation, for example via the sale of a
minority stake, Keysberg said: "Strategic fit does play a very
important role."
TKUCE, the world's largest supplier of chlor-alkali membrane
technologies used to produce hydrogen, has been valued at around
3 billion euros ($3.5 billion) by sellside analysts.
