U.S. stock index futures were flat on Tuesday, as investors refrained from
placing large bets ahead of a crucial inflation reading later in the week that
could influence the Federal Reserve's stance on rate cuts this year.  .N 
    
    At 7:31 ET, Dow e-minis  1YMc1  were down 0.02% at 39,212. S&P 500 e-minis
 ESc1  were up 0.08% at 5,257.25, while Nasdaq 100 e-minis  NQc1  were up 0.17%
at 18,325.75.
