** British retailer DFS Furniture DFSD.L gains as much as 5% to 174p; among top gainers on FTSE smallcap index .FTSC

** Expects FY adjusted PBT to be slightly above top end of 25 mln–29 mln pounds ($33.5 mln–38.8 mln) range, up ~20 mln pounds y/y

** YTD, DFSD rises ~24%
