Video Transcript:
DiDi Global's revenue rose 8.6% in the third quarter, that's according to China's largest ride-hailing platform on Wednesday. Revenue hit $8.28 billion for the three months ended September, while net profit was also well up on a year ago at close to $212 million. The company has expanded internationally, particularly in Latin America, where it offers both ride-hailing and food delivery services, although its expansion outside of China weighed on profitability. Adjusted losses from the overseas segment rose significantly to around $243 million. DiDi held its leading position in ride-hailing in China. That's despite growing competition from rivals like Alibaba and Meituan. DiDi resumed expansion two years ago after a regulatory crackdown that began in 2021 when the company pursued a US IPO without Beijing's approval.
