Polish Diagnostyka's Q1 profit jumps on test price increases and volume expansion

GDANSK, May 27 (Reuters) - Polish medical laboratory operator Diagnostyka DIAP.WA reported on Tuesday a 13% jump in its first-quarter net profit, driven by increase in the volume and price of tests.

CONTEXT

In 2024, the company acquired Diagnostyka-Teleradiologia24 and Livmed and gained full control of Diagnostyka Wyrobek. In early April this year, Diagnostyka also took a 51% stake in Eurodiagnostic.

We see great growth potential in the area of imaging diagnostics, therefore we plan further selective acquisitions that will allow us to expand our offerings and strengthen our presence in this segment, CEO Jakub Swadzba said in a statement.

BY THE NUMBERS

Diagnostyka net profit reached 72.9 million zlotys  ($19.45 million) while company's revenue rose 23% year-on-year to 591.6 million zlotys. Its earning before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) came in at 159.3 million zlotys.
