U.S. stock index futures edged higher as investors awaited a batch of economic
data and clung to hopes the Federal Reserve would deliver a supersized
interest-rate cut at its monetary policy meeting, which starts on Tuesday.  .N 
    
    At 7:39 ET, Dow e-minis  1YMc1  were up 0.18% at 41,736. S&P 500 e-minis
 ESc1  were up 0.24% at 5,651.5, while Nasdaq 100 e-minis  NQc1  were up 0.41%
at 19,513.5.
