Spanish grocer DIA's quarterly sales rise on strong home market

Amends headline and paragraphs 1 and 2 to reflect sales are gross (not net), amends gross sales figure in paragraph 2 to 1.78 (not 1.47) billion euros

Oct 30 (Reuters) - Spanish discount grocer DIA DIDA.MC said on Thursday that its third-quarter comparable gross sales were 1.78 billion euros ($2.08 billion), helped by growth in its home market, which offset a decline in consumption in Argentina.

A year ago, the company also posted gross sales of 1.78 billion euros.
