UPDATE 1-India's Jubilant FoodWorks posts higher quarterly revenue as Domino's sales pick up Adds details throughout
Oct 7 (Reuters) - India's Jubilant FoodWorks JUBI.NS said on Wednesday its consolidated revenue for the second quarter rose 11.9% on-year, driven by healthy sales at its Domino's pizza outlets.
Quick-service restaurant operators are seeing demand recover after a sluggish start to the year. Motilal Oswal analysts expect growth to accelerate in the second quarter from the previous three months, although elevated fuel and raw material costs continue to weigh on margins.
The company, which operates Domino's Pizza DPZ.O outlets in India, reported a consolidated revenue of 26.09 billion rupees ($269.89 million) for the three months ended September 30, it said in a pre-earnings quarterly update. Standalone revenue rose 11.6% to 18.86 billion rupees.
Domino's India recorded like-for-like growth of 4.1% during the quarter, up from 2.5% in the June quarter. Jubilant did not provide like-for-like sales figures for its other brands.
In August, the company said its fried chicken brand Popeyes was emerging as a second growth engine, while efforts to revive dine-in and takeaway sales at Domino's, which have lagged its stronger delivery business, were showing signs of success.
Jubilant said it added a net 108 stores across its brands during the quarter, taking the total group network to 3,820 stores as of September 30.
