Downing Strategic Micro-Cap Investment Trust PLC (the "Company") announces that following the conclusion of a formal tender process led by the Company's Audit Committee, the Board has approved the appointment of BDO LLP as the Company's auditor for the financial year ending 29 February 2020, which will be subject to approval by the Company's shareholders at the next Annual General Meeting in June 2020.
Grant Thornton UK LLP, the Company's current auditor, has deposited with the Company a statement of the circumstances connected with its ceasing to hold office (the "Statement") confirming that there are no matters that need to be brought to the attention of the members or creditors of the Company for the purposes of Section 519 of the Companies Act 2006.
Pursuant to Section 520(2) of the Companies Act 2006 a letter has today been sent to the Company's shareholders of the Company, containing the Statement for information only.  The letter has been submitted to the UK Listing Authority (the "UKLA"), and will shortly be available for inspection at the UKLA's Document Viewing Facility, via the National Storage Mechanism, located at www.morningstar.co.uk/uk/NSM.
