RNS Number : 2580L DP Poland PLC 30 December 2022
30 December 2022
DP Poland plc
("DP Poland" or the "Company")
Proposed appointment of Non-Executive Director and Chair
DP Poland, the operator of Domino's pizza stores and restaurants across Poland
and Croatia, is pleased to announce the intended appointment of David Wild as
an independent Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Company, subject to the
completion of normal regulatory due diligence being carried out by the
Company's Nomad. Mr Wild is expected to be appointed to the board in early
2023 and succeed Nick Donaldson as Chairman of DP Poland's Board of Directors.
David Wild brings extensive experience in the consumer sector to the Board,
including executive and non-executive roles at publicly listed companies.
David was CEO of Domino's Pizza Group, UK/ROI Master Franchisee, from 2014
until 2020, a period where the company expanded significantly through
accelerated new store openings. Prior to that, he was CEO of Halfords plc and
has prior senior executive experience at Walmart Stores Inc., Tesco Plc and
RHM Foods Limited. David held a variety of positions at Tesco over an 18-year
period including CEO Central Europe where he managed the entry into Poland and
other adjacent territories.
In addition to his executive experience, David was previously Senior
Independent Director of both Premier Foods plc and Ten Entertainment Group
plc. David has a degree in Chemistry from University College, Oxford.
Statement from Nick Donaldson, Chairman of DP Poland:
"It has been an honour to be Chairman of DP Poland, and I leave the Company in
a strong position. I'm delighted that David will be taking over from me,
building on the senior Domino's experience in the company that Nils Gornall
and Andrew Rennie brought to the Board with their appointment earlier this
year. Combined with David's experience working in Poland, I couldn't imagine a
better placed successor.
DP Poland has been transformed and matured significantly during my tenure and
is now ideally placed to prosper, with a clear strategy and first-class
leadership team."
Statement from David Wild, Chair designate of DP Poland:
"It is an exciting time to be joining DP Poland and I am very much looking
forward to working with the Board and the wider team. I am delighted to have
the opportunity to play a role in driving the future success of the business,
blending my prior experiences in Domino's and Poland to drive value for all
stakeholders."
Mr Donaldson will step down from the Board on 31 December 2022, as previously
announced on 15 June 2022, having completed more than nine years on the Board.
Przemyslaw Glebocki, existing Non-Executive Director, will be appointed as
Interim Chairman for the short period expected between Mr Donaldson's
departure and Mr Wild's formal appointment.
A further announcement confirming the appointment on completion of customary
regulatory due diligence checks and disclosing information in respect of
Schedule 2(g) of the AIM Rules will be made when appropriate.
