Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy in Kyiv on Sunday to
commemorate victims of World War Two, discuss arms and Ukraine's
ambition to be considered for European Union

Chancellor Olaf Scholz, in a televised speech to the nation,
assured Ukraine of solidarity in its fight against Russia's

POLITICS
Germany's conservative CDU won an election in the northern
state of Schleswig-Holstein on Sunday, a boost to the party of
former Chancellor Angela Merkel, which was ousted from national

CEO Oliver Zipse told Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung
(FAS) on Sunday that semi-conductor shortages would not ease
soon, saying he expected them to probably last into 2023. He
reiterated in the interview that BMW's new plant due to open at
Debrecen in Hungary in 2025 will be free of fossil fuels.

Supervisory board chief Wolfgang Kirsch said in Welt am
Sonntag on Sunday his board was prepared to give new managers on
the executive board sufficient time to consolidate, backing CEO
Stephan Sturm's course. Kirsch also said opening the group's
Helios hospital chain to a minority shareholder would not be
decided on price but had to make strategic sense.

Alexander Sixt, who runs the company with his brother
Konstantin, told Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung that a
smaller fleet after the coronavirus crisis made it harder to
meet demand. In first quarter 2022, Sixt had an average 125,000
vehicles on the road, down from 129,000 in the same quarter of
2019. Sixt opens in two locations in Canada in May, with a view
to wider expansion.

European Central Bank policymaker Robert Holzmann told the
Salzburger Nachrichten paper on Saturday that the ECB should
hike interest rates as many as three times this year to combat

Finnish central bank governor Olli Rehn said on May 6 he
