Jan 21 (Reuters) - Drax Group DRX.L said on Wednesday it would buy Flexitricity, a Edinburgh-based optimiser of flexible energy assets, for 36 million pounds ($48.36 million) as the British power firm seeks to expand its battery energy storage business.
Flexitricity serves over 900 megawatts of operational assets, primarily battery energy storage systems, gas peakers, renewables and demand-side response, and will support Drax's plans to develop a gigawatt-scale pipeline of battery energy storage opportunities.
