Australia's Droneshield hits over 11-month high on defence contract award

** Shares of Droneshield Ltd DRO.AX rise as much as 8.1% to A$2.660, their highest level since mid-July 2024

** Stock marks its biggest intraday pct gain since July 1

** AI-based platform provider awarded an A$11.7 million  ($7.65 million) research contract by existing customer

** Around 25.3 mln shares change hands, compared with the 30-day average volume of about 16 mln

** Session lifts YTD gains to 240.5%
