COPENHAGEN, Feb 3 (Reuters) - Freight forwarder DSV
DSV.CO posted a fourth-quarter operating profit before special
items below expectations on Tuesday and said the macroeconomic
and geopolitical environment remains uncertain into 2025.
"The macroeconomic and geopolitical environment, including
the situation in the Red Sea remains uncertain, and unforeseen
changes may therefore impact our financial results," the company
said in a statement.
"We continue to monitor activity closely across our
organisation and adjust capacity and cost base accordingly".
Its earnings before interest, tax and special items fell
to 3.94 billion Danish crowns ($543.7 million) from 3.95 billion
a year ago, lagging an average forecast of 4.28 billion in a
poll
of 18 analysts conducted by the company.
DSV said it expects operating profit before special
items this year of between 15.5 billion and 17.5 billion crowns,
excluding the impact from its acquisition of Schenker, compared
with 17.59 billion expected by analysts and the 16.1 billion it
achieved in 2024.
DSV is set to become the world's
biggest
logistics company after its $14.6 billion
acquisition
of Schenker which is expected to close in the second
quarter.
