Retail trading platforms rise after FINRA ruling on day-trading limit

Updates

** Shares of some retail trading platform jump, with Robinhood HOOD.O up 7% to $84.6 and Webull BULL.O rising 8.2% to $6.3

** Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) said in a regulatory filing on Tuesday it would replace current day-trading margin provisions with modern intraday margin standards

** Changes current day trading margin requirements that ban a trader from making more than four day-trades in a five-day period if their margin account has less than $25,000 in assets

** New margin standards now require customers to have enough equity in their account to cover the risks they run at that moment

** By removing old provisions FINRA said "more retail investors may choose to participate in the markets and pursue their preferred trading strategies"

** Both HOOD and BULL jumped more than 10% each on Tuesday

** Trading platform eToro Group ETOR.O up 4.6% on Wednesday after rising 4.2% in last session; Interactive Brokers IBKR.O gains 1.6% after rising 3.4% in previous session
