Chemical firms rise on US-China tariff reductions

** Shares of chemical firms rise premarket after the U.S. and China said they would ease some of their tariff measures, raising hopes of an end to the trade war between the world's two largest economies

** China is one of the major importers of chemicals for U.S. companies

** Chemical makers Dow DOW.N and DuPont DD.N up 7% and 4.9%, respectively

** Celanese CE.N up 6.8%, Chemours CC.N up 6%, LyondellBasell LYB.N up 5.8% and Eastman Chemical EMN.N up 3.9%

** Paint and coatings maker Sherwin-Williams SHW.N up 1.7%
