premarket as bitcoin exceeds the $42,000 mark
** Bitcoin BTC= , world's biggest cryptocurrency, up 1.9%
at $45,057, while Ether ETH= essentially flat at $2,430.70
** Crypto exchange Coinbase Global COIN.O up 4%, and
blockchain farm operator Bitfarms BITF.O up ~6% before the
bell
** Crypto miners lift: Riot Blockchain RIOT.O 4.6%,
Marathon Digital MARA.O 6%, Hut 8 Mining HUT.O 3%, Bit
Digital BTBT.O 4%
** Shares of software firm and notable BTC buyer
MicroStrategy MSTR.O gains 3.5%
** BTC mining machine maker Ebang International EBON.O has
yet to trade, but peer Canaan Inc CAN.O up 10%
** ProShares Bitcoin Strategy ETF BITO.P up 2%, while ETFs
tied to spot price of BTC such as iShares bitcoin ETF IBIT.O ,
Ark 21Shares ARKB.N and Grayscale Bitcoin ETF GBTC.K all up
~2%
** BTC up 7.6% YTD
