U.S. stock indexes climbed on Thursday after upbeat annual forecasts from
several retailers, while data confirmed the U.S. economy contracted in the first
quarter, easing concerns about aggressive interest rate hikes.  .N 
    
    At 11:38 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was up 1.50% at
32,602.54. The S&P 500  .SPX  was up 1.75% at 4,048.51 and the Nasdaq Composite
 .IXIC  was up 2.20% at 11,685.766.
