UK's Ediston Property rises on progress in property portfolio sale

** Shares of Ediston Property Investment  EPICE.L  gain as
much as 10.8% to over 10-month high of 70p; top gainer on
London's smallcaps index  .FTSC 
    ** UK-based REIT says in advanced discussions with a third
party buyer regarding a possible sale of the co's property
portfolio
    ** Co in March said it is unlikely to be able to raise new
capital in short or medium term and launched a strategic review
    ** Strategic review included possible merger with a REIT,
sale of co's entire share capital, sale of co's portfolio among
other 
    ** On track to log worst day since Nov. 18, 2020, if trend
holds  
    ** Up to last close, stock had risen ~5% this year
