** Shares  EDUC.O  of children's books publisher rose 17 pct
to $20.40 premarket after reporting higher revenue in Q1
    ** EDUC in top advancers among stocks trading premarket on
the Nasdaq
    ** Company's quarterly revenue rose 11.4 pct to $1.8 mln
while net earnings jumped by ~50 pct
    ** Revenue from EDUC's direct sales unit rose by 12 pct;
publishing division posted 9 pct increase in net revenue, its

    ** Stock is off ~8 pct YTD and 38 pct away from its 52-week
hit in March
