** Shares of Electro Optic Systems  EOS.AX  up 4.2% to
A$1.88; on track for their best day since July 24, if gains hold
    ** Defense and space technology developer says its space
technologies business secured A$9 mln ($5.84 mln) contract with
Australian Defence Force Joint Capabilities Division to further
develop space capabilities
    ** Adds, project expected to be delivered in 2H 2024 and
2025
    ** Stock has risen 73.6% this year, as of last close
