POLITICS
Italian police will be able to detain suspected troublemakers temporarily before street rallies to prevent them from spreading unrest under a new law-and-order decree adopted on Thursday by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's rightist government.

OECD releases January composite leading indicator data (1100 GMT).
DEBT
Italy's Treasury said on Thursday it would offer a new BTP Valore bond dedicated only to retail investors. The issue, with a six-year maturity, will be offered from March 2 to March 6.
Treasury details sale of 12-month BOT bills to be auctioned on February 11.

Energy Minister Gilberto Pichetto Fratin was in Algiers on Thursday to meet with Algerian counterpart Mohamed Arkab. They both expressed confidence that gas supply contracts from Algeria to Italy would be renewed soon, Italy's energy ministry said.

The Franco-Italian automaker said on Friday it was booking charges of around 22.2 billion euros for the second half of last year as it scaled down electric-vehicle development plans. It said it was expecting a preliminary loss of 19-21 billion euros in the second half of 2025, and would not pay a dividend in 2026.
South Korea's LG Energy Solution 373220.KS said on Friday that it planned to buy all of the stake held by Stellantis in their battery joint venture in Canada, for a nominal amount of $100.

The utility reported on Thursday an ordinary core profit of 22.9 billion euros ($27 billion), in line with guidance for 2025, adding that full-year net income would come slightly above 6.9 billion euros.
BANCO BPM BAMI.MI
Italy's third-largest bank on Thursday reported a 2025 net profit that beat market expectations and its own guidance, as a surge in fees more then offset the impact of a decline in lending income.
PIRELLI PIRC.MI
The board of the Italian tyremaker opposes any spin off of its cyber tyre activities, the company said on Thursday, reacting to a plan put forward by Chinese shareholder Sinochem to settle a governance dispute.

(*) The bank on Friday reported higher than expected fourth quarter 2025 profit, helped by a rise in revenue. Net income for the period totalled 166.5 million euros ($196.4 million), above an LSEG-compiled consensus of 161.3 million euros, while its revenue reached 346.9 million euros, up 4.3% year-on-year.
