** Shares of Elmet Group ELMT.O up 3% at $19.71 premarket
** Co's unit Elmet Technologies awarded a government contract valued at about $36 mln by the Defense Logistics Agency
** Elmet to supply high-performance molybdenum and tungsten alloys and precision wire to the US National Defense Stockpile
** These materials are used in the production of jet engine components and other aerospace applications
** Award is separate from the $2 billion DLA contract announced on Sept 14
** Stock up 6.4% YTD, as of last close
