India's Emerald Leasing leaps to 9-mth high on preferential share issue plan

** Shares of Indian non-banking financial company (NBFC)
Emerald Leasing Finance and Investment Co Ltd  EMER.BO  rise as
much as 17.7% to 28 rupees ($0.3398), highest since Jan. 10
    ** EMER on Monday evening said it would consider a proposal
for preferential issue of shares to non-promoters of the company
    ** More than 20,000 shares change hands by 0406 GMT vs the
30-day avg of 10,683 shares
    ** Stock down 29.2% so far this year upto last close
($1 = 82.3900 Indian rupees)
