APPOINTMENT OF NEW NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Empiric Student Property plc (ticker: ESP), the owner and operator of premium
student accommodation serving key UK Universities, announces that Clair
Preston-Beer has been appointed to the Board as an Independent Non-Executive
Director, effective from 1 July 2022, following the conclusion of a
comprehensive recruitment process supported by external consultants.

 

Clair is an experienced leader of high performance retail and hospitality
businesses in the UK and internationally. Clair spent 16 years with Costa
Coffee, then part of Whitbread PLC, in a range of senior leadership roles
including UK Operations Director, Chief Operating Officer in the UK with full
financial and operational responsibility for UK property, business change and
operations across 1,100 outlets, and latterly Managing Director for the Middle
East and Asia where she was responsible for developing and driving the
strategy for the significant expansion and profitable growth for the region.
Clair was a member of the Costa Executive Team.

 

Clair joined Greene King as Managing Director in November 2020. She sits on
the main Board and is responsible for c.600 local community pubs across the
UK.
