MILAN, May 7 (Reuters) - Italian utility Enel ENEI.MI said on Thursday its ordinary core profit rose 3.6% year-on-year in the first quarter as positive performances at its grid businesses in Spain and Latin America offset weakness in its domestic activities.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) excluding extraordinary items came in at 6 billion euros ($7.1 billion), in line with an analyst consensus compiled by LSEG.
The state-controlled group confirmed full-year financial targets announced at its capital markets day in February, before the start of the U.S.-Israeli war against Iran.
