DATA
Poland's statistics office to publish unemployment data at
0900.
DEBT SUPPLY
Poland's finance ministry to publish supply for Tuesday's
bond auction at 1400.
EUROPEAN UNION
Law and Justice (PiS) party leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski told
PAP state-run news agency that he views changes in EU treaties
extremely negatively and as an attempt to dismantle the Polish
state, adding that this is an act of betrayal of Polish
interests.
The EU has signalled preliminarily that it will agree to pay
the state-owned postal company Poczta Polska for providing
so-called universal services, with the first sum amounting to
about 700 million zlotys ($174.43 million), Puls Biznesu daily
reported.
ENERGY
In the next dozen or so years, the profitability of
coal-fired power units will end, though coal could still be used
to make electricity and heat if carved out of energy companies,
Rzeczpospolita daily reported.
Enea ENAE.WA has not found anyone willing to build
gas-fired power units in Kozienice, but it is not giving up on
the idea, only changing its business plan, Parkiet daily
reported.
PARLIAMENT
An IBRiS survey shows that more than half of the respondents
expect that Szymon Holownia, as the speaker of the lower house
of parliament (sejm), will do everything to make the a place for
substantive and cultural political debate, Rzeczpospolita daily
reported.
UKRAINIAN STUDENTS
Nearly 300,000 Ukrainian students are going to school in
Poland, over 100,000 more than previously reported, with data
still incomplete, Rzeczpospolita daily reported.
