U.S. stock indexes opened higher on Tuesday as upbeat quarterly reports from
Johnson & Johnson and Travelers fired up risk appetite, after big banks kicked
off the third-quarter earnings season on a positive note last week.  .N 
    At 09:36 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was up 0.30% at
35,365.99. The S&P 500  .SPX  was up 0.31% at 4,500.5 and the Nasdaq Composite
 .IXIC  was up 0.21% at 15,052.832.
