The following factors could affect Italian markets on Thursday.

    POLITICS
    Italy's main opposition party said on Wednesday it was ready
to hold talks with the anti-establishment 5-Star Movement over
forming a government following the collapse of the previous,

    President Sergio Mattarella holds consultations on Thursday
with the 5-Star Movement and the main opposition parties,
including PD, to see if a new coalition can be formed.

    Treasury announces sale of zero-coupon bonds, with relative
amounts to be auctioned on Aug. 27.
    
   COMPANIES
   UNICREDIT  CRDI.MI 
   UniCredit is seeking non-binding bids by the end of September
to sell up to 1 billion euros ($1.1 billion) in so-called
"unlikely-to-pay" (UTP) loans, a source close to the matter
said, as Italy's top bank steps up its clean-up

    MEDIASET  MS.MI 
    The three independent directors who voted against a plan to
merge the Italian broadcaster and its Spanish subsidiary under a
Dutch holding company did so because they disagreed with the new
entity's special voting mechanism, Mediaset said on Wednesday. 
     
   ENERTRONICA  ENER.MI 
   Italy's bourse said on Wednesday it was banning orders on
Enetronica shares without a price limit until further notice.
    
    VISIBILIA  VE.MI 
    The Italian publisher said on Wednesday Negma Group had
requested the conversion into equity of five bonds, resulting in
the issuance of new stock equivalent to 6.52% of the company's
