Egypt announces oil and gas discovery in western desert

CAIRO, May 21 (Reuters) - Agiba Petroleum, a joint venture between the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation and Italy's Eni ENI.MI, has made its largest discovery in the Western Desert in 15 years, Egypt's petroleum ministry said on Thursday.

Preliminary estimates put discovered reserves at 330 billion cubic feet of gas and 10 million barrels of condensates and crude oil, the ministry said.
